Produced from 2007 until 2012 the Blade is an upgraded version of the popular Toyota Corolla. But the appeal isn’t just all engine and horsepower but introduced new luxury features inside that the Corolla missed out on.

The upgrades aren’t all under the hood, but let’s touch on what powers the hatchback. Known as the “Corolla with a jetpack”, the Blade Is a step up on the Corolla where it really matters. The Corolla is known for its fuel efficient 1.8 litre 4-cylinder engine, while the Blade went all out and uses the same engine from a Kluger or Aurion. Yeah, the 3.5 litre V6 engine produces an impressive 206kw to the front wheels of the 6-speed automatic.

With the 6 speed Automatic, Toyota made this vehicle easy to drive and put a strong focus on comfort. Not wanting to sacrifice control, the Blades are fitted with paddle shifters, allowing you to wiz through those twisty back roads at ease. On the straighter roads, the Blade can go from 0 – 100km in an outstanding 6.3 seconds, making this a suitable vehicle for all types of drivers.

Mastering the Blade’s features

Not only have Toyota upgraded the power they also upgraded the inside. The Blade comes with 9 SRS airbags, traction control, ABS and stability control to cover all points of tour safety features. But after your safety, your comfort was the next priority, the Blade comes in 3 different trims; your standard Blade, the Blade Master and the Blade Master G. Toyota Blade Driving through tunneel features, on the exterior you can see the fog lights, HID headlights and reversing camera. But it’s the interior where you really see the difference between the Masters and the standard. The Master and higher coming with excellent tech for its age including

keyless entry, push button start, audio steering controls and plenty of storage. For those Japanese enthusiasts, the Blades come with a Japanese internal system allowing for a those wanting the authentic Japanese experience. Yet don’t feel locked in as these can we changed over with ease to new English systems.
